Selva
In the central foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana, Selva stands out for its genuine character as a Majorcan mountain town. Picturesque and serene, originally it sheltered smuggler bandits. Today it is a coveted place of residence for the international community that wants to go unnoticed and live away from the urban noise. Beautiful cobbled streets and the characteristic elevated church of Sant Llorenç, with its 42 steps and a peculiar sculpture, delight residents and visitors on market Wednesdays in its main square. Neighboring the great city of Inca and the towns and villages of Caimari, Moscari, Biniamar and Binibona, the annual Herb Fair is held in Selva, attracting experts, repeaters and the curious to demonstrations and gastronomic events of all kinds in the middle of June, with the consequent "myrtle procession" with the "xeremiers" from the fields to the main square, after its harvest. Selva is well worth a visit or a lifetime to enjoy the most genuine Mallorca.
