In an effort to address the growing demand for housing and modernise the construction sector, the Spanish government has announced the upcoming presentation of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE) focused on innovation and modernisation of industrialised and modular construction.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Agenda, Isabel Rodríguez, stressed that this PERTE seeks to gain agility in housing construction, allowing for faster construction and with positive consequences for the sector, such as modernisation, reduced emissions and improved worker safety. This initiative is part of a package of 12 measures announced in January by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, aimed at increasing affordable housing and facilitating access to it.
In addition, the government will soon sign a 10-million-euro aid agreement with the 68 municipalities most affected by the hurricane, for the reconstruction of the areas most affected by the floods. These agreements will allow municipalities to access direct aid to update their urban agendas and adapt them to the new climate reality. We are also working on the incorporation of twelve more municipalities to the signing of agreements.
From aProperties, we watch with interest these initiatives that seek to stimulate the new housing market in Spain, offering opportunities for both buyers and investors interested in new housing projects in Spain.
