Portopí
Portopí is a historic neighborhood in Palma de Mallorca’s Poniente district, whose evolution reflects its versatile character: from a traditional fishing village to a summer retreat for bourgeois families, and during the 1960s, a tourist destination with villas converted into small hotels and apartment buildings. It borders El Terreno and connects to Cala Major and the municipality of Calvià, establishing itself as a strategic and attractive area.
Throughout its history, artists and writers have chosen Portopí as a residence, while its port has hosted historic vessels such as the Nixe and Nixe II of Archduke Luis Salvador, and the Fortuna of the royal family, highlighting its social and cultural significance. Today, the neighborhood combines tradition and modernity, with local and international shops, full services, and the Porto Pi shopping center, reinforcing its role as a vibrant and cosmopolitan urban hub in Palma.
