La Rambla
La Rambla is one of the most emblematic streets in the centre of Palma, built on the former course of the Sa Riera torrent, which was later diverted towards Passeig Mallorca. This historical origin explains its generous width and open character within the urban fabric.
The promenade begins near La Misericòrdia, where cultural and institutional buildings converge, and gently slopes towards the historic core of the city. Lined with trees and traditional flower stalls, La Rambla offers a lively atmosphere shaped by cafés, local shops and constant pedestrian activity.
Along its route, glass-enclosed balconies, traditional façades and former stately homes with inner courtyards reflect the area’s architectural evolution. Its direct connection to Plaça Major and the Teatre Principal reinforces its role as a cultural and social axis, making La Rambla one of the most sought-after locations in central Palma.
