Villamartín - Orihuela Costa - Las Filipinas
Villamartín is among the most prestigious towns in the area, famous for its first-class golf course that has contributed to enriching its landscape over the last half century.
The town of Villamartín is made up of a group of urbanizations such as Villacosta, Eagles Nest, Montegolf, Las Filipinas, El Presidente, Los Valencias, El Galán and Blue Lagoon; all of them built around the central plaza and the golf course complex.
This area is popular as a holiday destination for both national and international tourists, attracted by the proximity to Orihuela Costa and its beaches and the variety of services within the town.
The majority of the population consists of English speakers and immigrants from Northern Europe who have settled in the town, transforming a sleepy area into a modern and cosmopolitan one.
One of the few towns that has its own Wikipedia article, Villamartín is located about 4km inland from the eastern coast of the Mediterranean, in the southern part of the province of Alicante and 12km from the coastal city of Torrevieja to the southeast.
It is surrounded by Los Almendros and La Florida to the east, Los Dolses to the south, the Real Club de Golf Campoamor to the west and fields to the north.
Villamartín is located within the jurisdiction of the Orihuela town council and is connected by road to the urbanization of La Zenia and Cabo Roig, giving quick access to the N-332 and the AP-7 motorway.
