Ontinyent
Ontinyent is a municipality in the Valencian Community and the capital of the Vall d’Albaida region. It is located in the southern part of the province of Valencia, within the Central Regions area, and belongs to the Valencian linguistic domain. With an approximate population of 36,430 inhabitants according to INE data (2024), it functions as the main administrative, economic, and service hub of its surrounding region, combining a medium-sized urban scale with a well-established residential character.
The city lies along the Clariano River and is surrounded by a distinctly mountainous landscape, dominated by the Sierra Grossa, which forms a natural boundary to the west and shapes both the scenery and urban development. Ontinyent has a Mediterranean climate with continental influences due to its inland location.
