Last April 23rd, coinciding with World Book Day, we experienced a very special occasion at aProperties with the celebration of an Open House in one of the most extraordinary homes we currently have for sale: an impressive triplex in Salamanca District. The perfect setting for an event where culture, architecture and design came together naturally, under a claim that captured the spirit of the occasion: Spaces that inspire great stories, an invitation to explore the connection between home and literature.
This Open House was conceived as much more than a visit to a singular property. Taking advantage of the symbolism of a date so closely linked to culture, the event was designed as an experience to celebrate how great spaces can also be a source of inspiration: places for rest, for reading and, often, the setting where stories take shape before becoming books.
The event began with a literary discussion moderated by Julio Lara, aProperties advisor and founding partner of Editorial Cuatro Letras, who also acted as a bridge between the two worlds brought together on this occasion: Real Estate and literature. He was joined by two exceptional guests: Ana Fernández Pardo, PhD and professor of Information Sciences, writer specialising in historical fiction; and Miguel Sanz Sanz, CEO of Kioskalia, literary critic and active promoter of literary and cultural initiatives.
During the conversation, topics such as the current state of literature, the challenge of balancing screens and books, and how reading continues to reinvent itself as a cultural and social experience were explored. There was also room to share very special anecdotes about books and homes: real stories experienced at aProperties, from inherited libraries to small literary treasures discovered in some properties. More than a roundtable, it became a lively exchange of ideas in which many guests actively participated, enriching a conversation that flowed naturally in a truly unique setting.
The chosen setting could not have been more fitting. This spectacular seventh-floor residence provided the perfect backdrop to celebrate a day that continues to gain followers and that we did not want to let pass without paying tribute to it. Following the discussion, the celebration continued with a cocktail on the home’s main floor, an open-plan space where the kitchen with island and the living-dining area connect seamlessly, all framed by truly spectacular views over the city.
Its interior design —sophisticated, serene and thoughtfully curated— was also an essential part of the experience. Earth tones, soft browns and a palette of warm, luminous colours run throughout the home, creating an enveloping sense of calm and elegance. Every room strikes that balance between sophistication and comfort that invites you to stay.
Ultimately, this Open House was a reflection of how we understand the real estate sector at aProperties: not only as a way of presenting exceptional properties, but as an opportunity to connect people and create experiences with their own identity. A different kind of gathering, where conversation, culture and space came together naturally to turn a viewing into a memorable occasion. A more inspiring —and very much our own— way of presenting an extraordinary home to our clients.
