El Moralet
El Moralet is a residential area within the municipality of Alicante, located in a low-density setting that forms a transition between the city and the rural interior of the province. It borders San Vicente del Raspeig to the north and east, Verdegás and Cañada del Fenollar to the south, and Agost to the west, a position that underpins its quiet character and good connectivity to surrounding towns.
Historically, El Moralet was part of the municipality of San Vicente del Raspeig during part of the 19th century. This administrative background helps explain its distinct identity and its long-standing links with neighbouring areas, still reflected in its territorial and social structure.
The area has evolved through a dispersed residential model, predominantly composed of single-family homes set within a Mediterranean landscape. This development has shaped a lifestyle focused on privacy, space and tranquillity, qualities that are particularly sought after in the mid- to high-end property market for buyers who value proximity to Alicante while enjoying a more secluded environment.
Community life is closely tied to local traditions. The patron saint festivities in honour of Saint Anthony of Padua and the Immaculate Conception are held during the last week of August at the sports grounds near the hermitage, serving as the main social gathering point. Until 2005, these celebrations were organised by the El Moralet Cultural Taurine Association.
