Alcalá de Chivert
Alcalá de Chivert is a municipality located in the province of Castellón, in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is part of the Baix Maestrat region and has a population of 6,680 people.
Between the 13th and 18th centuries, the town was known simply as Alcalá. Sometimes it was also called Alcalá de Xivert, because Xivert was initially the main town in the area or encomienda to which Alcalá belonged, until the latter became the head of the territory.
