Santa Pola
Santa Pola is a coastal town located in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community (Spain), along the Mediterranean Sea. It is known for its beaches, fishing port, and the Natural Park of the Salt Flats of Santa Pola. Its economy is mainly based on tourism, fishing, and salt production.
It has Roman origins (Portus Ilicitanus), as the ancient port of Elche, and has historically been an important fishing and defensive settlement against pirate attacks. Notable landmarks include the 16th-century Fortress-Castle, Tamarit Tower, and the Santa Pola Lighthouse. The climate is Mediterranean, with mild winters, hot summers, and low rainfall.
