Playa de San Juan - El Cabo
Playa de San Juan is Alicante’s main beachfront and one of the longest on the Costa Blanca, stretching over more than 6 kilometres of fine sand and clear waters. Historically known as Platja de l’Horta, this continuous coastal strip is now administratively divided into two sections: the Alicante city stretch, approximately 2,900 metres long, and the neighbouring municipality of El Campello, with the remaining 3,300 metres known as Playa de Muchavista. The name derives from an old customs officers’ hut once located in the area, known as “Casilla de Mucha Vista”.
The beach extends from El Campello to Cabo de las Huertas and is widely regarded as Alicante’s most emblematic beach, both for its size and for its year-round use. Its natural conditions allow for a balanced combination of leisure, sport and everyday life beyond the summer season.
Its integration with residential areas, urban services and sports facilities has played a key role in the development of the surrounding area, making Playa de San Juan one of the most highly valued coastal zones from both a residential and real estate perspective.
