Maternidad y San Ramón

La Maternidad y San Ramón is a neighborhood in the Les Corts district of the city of Barcelona that borders the municipality of Hospitalet de Llobregat. This neighborhood is made up of two different sectors, San Ramón to the west and La Maternidad and Can Bacardí to the east.

The name of San Ramón comes from the parish of San Ramón Nonato; this sector is also called Collblanc. It should not be confused with the antonomastic Collblanc, a neighboring hospital neighborhood.

The Maternity is a nucleus around a nursing home, the Maternity and Foundling House, which was built by the Barcelona Provincial Council and commissioned by Camil Oliveras i Gensana.

In the central area of the neighborhood there are three major facilities, the Football Club Barcelona facilities, including the Camp Nou, the Les Corts cemetery and the Maternity complex. A part of the neighborhood is located in the Zona Universitaria.
