El Poble Sec

Poble-sec is one of the neighborhoods that make up the Sants-Montjuïc district. The neighborhood constituted the first expansion (eixample) of Barcelona, with the demolition of the old city walls, even before Cerdà's plan. It has been the neighborhood of illustrious characters such as the singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat, the Catalan rumba singer Peret or the journalist Julia Otero. Given its location next to the Ronda del Litoral, the neighborhood is easily accessible by car. Other transport options are the bus or the metro (Poble Sec and Paral·lel).
